IC4 at ICIS 2016
This week IC4 were delighted to be part of the 2016 International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS 2016). A major event on the academic calendar, ICIS is the annual meeting of the Association for Information Systems (AIS). The AIS has over 4,000 members representing universities across 95 countries worldwide. This year's event attracted more than more than 1,700 academics and practitioners in the field of IS from across the globe. The venue for the conference which ran from the 11th to 14th December was the state of the art Convention centre in the heart of Ireland’s capital. The overall theme was “Digital Innovation at the Crossroads” which included a range of sessions, presentation and keynote speeches central to this theme.
Highlights of The Event
To kick off the event on Monday morning the keynote speech was delivered by Atish Banerjea, Chief Information Officer for Facebook and recipient of the AIS 2016 Leadership Excellence Award. The conference awards were held on Tuesday followed by an evening of entertainment in the Guinness Storehouse. The top floor was booked out to show the international guests a night of traditional Irish entertainment including ceili dancers and singers and a U2 tribute band.

Throughout the event, the IC4 team were on hand to provide conference attendees with information on latest IC4 research projects and Horizon2020 funded project to develop a heterogeneous cloud service delivery model Cloudlightning.
